Memorial Day on the Mesa

John decided we would take a family outing up to the Mesa on Memorial Day. It was about 40 degrees and drizzly. John fished, Brooke played with the worms and I froze.
It started raining, then hailing, then snowing.... yes SNOWING. We packed everything up and we were ready to head home but the car wasn't!
Yep, stuck in the mud!
John tried to push the TrailBlazer out of the mud while I slowly gassed the engine. It was kind-of fun watching mud fly up from the wheels onto John but don't tell him that. Finally, by the grace of God, 2 trucks stopped to help. One of them ended up towing us out of the mud and back on to pavement! It was amazing but not the end of our adventure. Luckily, Brooke passed out cold (from all the fun she was having). With it still snowing, we hit it, FOG that is. Horrible, horrible, thick fog! Fog you can't see through. AND don't forget, we are driving down the Mesa and can't see where the heck we are going. I begged John to pull over but he insisted we keep going, slow but steady.
We made it home... FINALLY.

Videos of the fish & worms...

Yay for more frequent updating! We have been super lazy about it too and need to get on the dang bus. That pic of her and Uncle Marcus are great. What a smile!! Love you and so glad you didn't get stranded so we'd have to see your story on "I Shouldn't Be Alive". That would suck.
